From the rolling hills of the Shire to the towering cliffs of Milford Sound, New Zealand is made for adventure. Wander through Hobbiton, share lunch in the Shire, then head underground into Waitomo’s Black Abyss, surrounded by thousands of glowworms.
Fly south to Queenstown, where you’ll ride the gondola, race down the luge, and choose your own adventure—bungy jumping or a thrilling jet-boat ride through the canyon. Then journey to Milford Sound, cruising beneath towering cliffs and waterfalls while sharing lunch on the water.
Eight unforgettable days of adventure, breathtaking landscapes, and new friendships in one of the most beautiful places in the world.
EXPEDITION
ITINERARY
DAY 1: WELCOME TO AUCKLAND
Welcome to New Zealand! Settle into our Auckland hotel, your home for the first three nights. Stretch your legs along the waterfront and meet your fellow travelers before a welcome dinner and the first of many stories around the table.
DAY 2: HOBBITON, LUNCH & TIME TO UNWIND
After breakfast, travel into the rolling green countryside and step into the Shire on a guided Hobbiton Movie Set tour. Wander past hobbit holes and gardens, enjoy a drink at the Green Dragon Inn, and share a buffet lunch in the Party Marquee. Return to the same Auckland hotel for a free evening. Breakfast and Hobbiton lunch are included today; choose your own dinner at your own expense.
DAY 3: BLACK ABYSS & GLOWWORMS
An early start takes us to Waitomo for the five-hour Black Abyss adventure. Repel down into the cave, explore the subterranean river, and look up at a ceiling of glowworms. We will split into small guided groups, then return to our Auckland hotel for dinner and the night.
DAY 4: FLY TO QUEENSTOWN & RIDE THE LUGE
Our included domestic flight takes us south to Queenstown. Settle into the hotel that will be our South Island base, then ride the gondola above Lake Wakatipu for sweeping mountain views and six luge rides. Then explore town and share a group dinner together.
DAY 5: CHOOSE YOUR ADVENTURE
Find your kind of adventure in Queenstown. Choose one included experience: a Kawarau Bridge bungy jump, or a Shotover Jet speedboat ride through the canyons. We’ll arrange your activity and transfers, with time to explore town around your scheduled departure. Tonight, we’ll all gather for dinner. Return to our Queenstown hotel, and choose your own dinner on your own expense.
DAY 6: MILFORD SOUND LUNCH CRUISE
An early start takes us through Fiordland along the spectacular Milford Road. Step aboard a daytime cruise beneath towering cliffs and waterfalls, sharing a lunch as we take in the scenery, and if lucky spot seals and bottlenose dolphins. Return to our Queenstown hotel that evening. This is a full day of approximately 12–14 hours including travel. Then we'll gather for dinner as a group.
DAY 7: QUEENSTOWN FREE TIME & FAREWELL DINNER
Enjoy a relaxed morning and a day to make Queenstown your own. Walk along the lakefront, explore town, or choose an optional adventure at your own expense. At night, we will gather for a Farewell Dinner to share favorite moments, laugh about our adventures, and reminisce about the places and friendships that made the week unforgettable before we say our goodbyes.
DAY 8: QUEENSTOWN DEPARTURE
Enjoy breakfast together before private airport transfers. Leave with a camera full of memories and a new circle of friends.
