2016 has been such an incredible year. We made so many new friends, traveled to new places, started a new business, and added the chunkiest bundle of joy to our family! I am so excited for this new year, and cannot wait to see what 2017 has in store — We are ready for a wild ride!

My 2017 resolutions:
Work on confidence – Be more thoughtful – Express my strong suits – Be more tidy – Keep car clean(ish) – Put toilet paper ON the roller – Keep our plants alive – Early to bed, early to rise – More ‘Hailey & Brad’ time – BE PRESENT – Enjoy my babies – Enjoy my Brad – Find more service opportunities – Pray more meaningful – Get out of my comfort zone – Try new things – Learn how to do my makeup – Try to buy something that isn’t BLUE – Quit comparing – Share more real moments – Be more vulnerable – Read scriptures daily – LISTEN – Be open to new friendships – Find creative inspiration – Create something beautiful – Make time for things that I enjoy – Laugh a little more – Speak kindly – Make eye contact – Be more forgiving – Become a better writer.

PSSST: Here are the videos I gifted our families for Christmas this year — it’s a recap of our year together! I love that I’ve been continuing this tradition for FIVE years now — it’s so fun to watch our family grow over the years, and I love that Lucy will have these videos to remind her of her childhood with her cousins. This is by far my favorite gift that I gave this year!

Hailey, the videos are perfect! What a special gift to give to your family. I’m putting this on my goal list!

Do you mostly film with a glide cam? It just seems like all the shots are “in the moment” – meaning no tripod. Thanks for the advice!

Hey Mary Beth! Thanks so much! All of these shots are hand held. ๐Ÿ™‚ I usually shoot 60 fps or 120 fps because slowing the footage down makes it look more stable. – Hailey

Hi, Hailey! Hopefully you will see this and can help me. I really look up to you guys and it’s hard to get good advice on this subject. So if you normally shoot at 60 fps or 120 fps – do you put everything on a 24 fps or 30 fps timeline in FCPX? I know that you can set the clips you want in slow-mo to Automatic Speed, but what about the clips you want to play at regular speed that you shot at 60 fps? Thanks in advance! Love you guys!

First things first, can I be A Haugen too? You are the most beautiful fun loving family I’ve ever seen! ๐Ÿ™‚ My new years resolution is to take more videos and I owe that to you. Pictures are great and I take plenty of those but videos show so much more emotion and almost transport you back to that day. You inspire me!!
Thanks for sharing your talents, I love seeing what you are up to.
Lastly, where is the nursery you are at? Cactus and Tropicals? I am needing to get my hands on a bunch of succulents for New Beginnings and I think that might be a bit of a challenge in January.

Hailey you and Brad are two of the most joyful people I have ever met! Seriously I smiled all the way through these videos. What magical memories!!! Thank you for being a great example! This quote from one of my very favorite men reminds me so much of you!! “Go forward in life with a twinkle in your eye and a smile on your face, but with great and strong purpose in your heart.” Gordon B Hinckley
    Thank you!
