I Scream, You Scream

I can’t remember the last time we went downtown just to play as a little family. It was so nice to prance around temple square without being in a rush, and having Lucy with us! She walked around smelling every flower she laid eyes on, as this group of seniors stood and took pictures of her – haha! Lucy wanted to touch the flowers so I explained BE SOFT — Her soft little petting of the flower quickly turned into a grab and pluck – She couldn’t stand to not pick the flowers! How do you explain that you can’t pick flowers to an 18 mo old!? You pick your battles… Right? We got an ice cream cone and first thing that Lucy wanted to do is stick her finger in it – Hahaha OF COURSE. Then she was wanting to run everywherrrrre. I was getting a bit frustrated because I had a dripping ice cream cone in my hand, but Brad came to the rescue and made the whole situation light and fun. He’s good at turning things around, and making everything into some sort of game. I don’t know what I’d do without him by my side. Working together definitely has its battles, but for the majority of the time it has been such a blessing. We bumped into the cutest sister missionary from South Africa who said “Hey! I used to follow you on instagram!” – This was her first time to the United States, and we happened to run into each other. Everyday I am blown away by what a crazy small world this is with social media.

I think Heavenly Father is ok with kids picking flowers at the temple. 😉
