Quit Sayin’ Sorry

After hanging out at Seven Peaks the other night, we saw a little carnival on our way home! So we quickly pulled over, even though Lucy was all ready for bed (YOLO, right!?) Ha! I was feeling a bit self conscious about my soggy hair do, and Lucy strutting around in her jammies. When some cute girls approached us, I quickly apologized about how I looked. I hattttte when I do that, it’s complete word vomit! Why do I feel like I need to say sorry all the time? “Sorry my house is so messy.” – “Sorry my pasta isn’t that great.” – “Sorry this, sorry that.” I think that deep down.. I feel the need to have my life all put together, and I let my pride get in the way. I want to have a constant clean home, be all put together for the day, and have a home made meal on the table. The reality is, my day to day life is pretty chaotic — I do a lot! But honestly, I wouldn’t have it any other way. I am me, and I should never apologize for that. ๐Ÿ™‚

Looks like you had lots of fun ๐Ÿ™‚ saying sorry is a very British thing. I don't know why we do it we just have a habit I guess ๐Ÿ™‚ Instagram:emmacawston

It's so hard for me not to apologize for things that I shouldn't have to apologize for! When someone steps on my foot? "Sorry!" When someone walks into my kind of messy home? "Sorry!" How dumb is that??

I've been making the effort to not apologize for everything and to not put "just" in front of my requests of people. It's difficult, but it's making me more confident ๐Ÿ™‚ I feel ya though Hailey!

I do the same thing! I think that it is so hard not to sometimes. Especially since the words just come out. I am definitely working on it though because you are so right!!

I am probably old enough to be your mother, but I do the same thing. The funny thing is I know that there is no such person who has it all put together. We just do the best! I would much rathe spend the afternoon in the pool with my girls than be cleaning house or folding laundry.

I looked at this picture and said, "Oh my goodness, I wish I had her hair! She makes it look so good!" And then I read what you were saying. You are so great Hailey and I'm so happy you set an example for girls and women. Thank you!

I can't remember where I heard this, but someone once said we should allow each other to be human. Humans are messy! And have breakdowns and good days and bad days and messy houses and mess up sometimes. So, basically, no one really has the right to NOT allow someone else to be human, ya know? But sometimes WE are the ones who aren't allowing ourselves to be human. Especially in bloggy land I feel like sometimes we think everything needs to be clean and perfect because we want people to view us in that way. But that's not how humans are ha!

Anyway, kind of confusing, but I really liked the message. Maybe I'll see if I can track down where I heard that from.
