Norway: Staying in Airbnb’s!

I am so thrilled to share our experiences we had in Norway with Airbnb. Ever since we discovered Airbnb last year, we have been completely hooked whenever we travel!  I was so pleasantly surprised to rent a whole home for such an affordable price. Staying in an unfamiliar city, it’s refreshing to not feel like a complete tourist. Our hosts welcomed us into their homes with open arms, and I feel like we became instant friends. Is everyone who lists on Airbnb …Cool? Because it sure seems like it. Ha! They gave us local insights that we would have never known about, if we had stayed in a hotel. I loved staying in these unique spaces.

Our first Airbnb in Notodden was so quaint and cozy. Our host Rachel immediately hugged me when we met. She walked us down to our cottage and made us laugh so hard when we asked for restaurant recommendations. We were practically in the middle of nowhere! She loaded us with tons of ideas, and thank heavens we had a kitchen. It feels so nice to have a night in, when your’e out of town. Our Airbnb in Bergen was one of my favorites. It was so central, we could walk right into town! And every inch of her space was filled with creative quirky pieces. Mari greeted us on her bicycle with her darling little boy. The second we walked through the door, I felt like I was at home. I was really missing my little Lucy at this point of the trip, so it was refreshing to be surrounded by little coats hung on the wall… etc. Mari put her cat outside (I’m allergic!) for the duration of our stay. We laughed so hard because we could see it glaring at us from the porch every time we passed by! Ha! I was excited to see that Mari kept a guest book sitting on the kitchen table. One night I sat there, smiling while reading it! I was shocked to see entries in asian languages, that book contained stories of people from all around the world! Everyone having something in common: The love to travel, and staying in this beautiful space. AirBNB brings people together, and that’s probably what I love the most.
